DUTCH MILITARY PARACHUTIST COURSE

AN OPPORTUNITY TO QUALIFY AS A MILITARY PARACHUTIST
Following standard military jump training, the course at Texel requires
- Five parachute jumps
- Using a round canopy
- Made from the military style stand-up, static-line exit
The course is tailored for the first time jumper and as a refresher for the experienced paratrooper.
Official Dutch military parachutist wings are awarded on successful completion of the course.
TRAINING PROGRAM
AN-2 Colt, the jump ship used at Texel, is AN-2Colt" former soviet paratroop trainer. The aircraft is certified by the Dutch Military for Parachutist Training and jumps are made from an altitude of 2,500 feet above ground level.
During the course you will be taught to pack your own parachute. The parachute used in the training course is a GQ AEROCONICAL. the student here is rigging his chute at one of the packing tables. Packing means working with the parachute assembly, less the harness.
While training at Texel, you will learn how to pack the container, canopy, suspension lines, risers, and connector links. Note the red static line.
These are the same type of parachutes used in training Dutch military personnel at Texel.
Civilian and military students alike are required tol wear the standard issue battle dress uniform worn by the military of their own nation. Only military rank and insignia to which they are officially entitled by their military service may be worn.
Here British and Irish Ranger jumpers are wearing standard issue uniforms during training.
The training course at Texel is geared for both male and female jumpers of a wide range of ages. The standard age limit is 17- 55, but older jumpers can be accomodated. Email for further information.
Total cost for the training course at Texel is £300 sterling, approximately $450 USD paid to Pathfinder. A non-refundable deposit of £50 or $75 is due now to confirm a place and the remainder payable no later than 20th August 2000. Email Sgt Mobsby for Pathfinder mailing address.
Students, however, must be in possession of a current medical certificate, endorsed by a medical doctor as being "Fit to Parachute." We can supply these forms to you by email.
ROOM, BOARD, & TRANSPORTATION COSTS:
The Pathfinder Group has a special rate for room and board (Breakfast and Dinner) at the Prinze Hendrik Hotel, which is just a mile away from the DZ. The per-person rate for a room with shower & toilet, and shared occupancy is approx 60 NLG (Netherlands Guilders) or about $24.75 USD(U.S. Dollars) / £16.50 GBP (UK Pounds) per night.
